Ghost Ship services- ReelInfo Inc.

My latest project involved creating a bifold brochure for Ghost Ship 3PL, with ReelInfo Inc. as my client. During my collegiate career, I was learning about the printed design field right when COVID-19 hit. So, to be honest, I didn't know a whole lot about this field.

For this project, I had to brush up on my knowledge by watching YouTube videos and reading articles online. That helped me get review the old knowledge I managed to gain, and helped me learn new things I never had the change to. Then, I looked at the outline ReelInfo gave me. It had all the things they wanted in the brochure, so I knew where to put everything. They even explained to me the images they wanted, so I didn't have to guess, I knew what they wanted and they trusted me to pick the right image.

When I got started, I made three different designs with different pictures to see which looked best. After some back-and-forth, we decided to go for a friendly and clean warehouse vibe, ditching the hard hat worker images. Apart from that, I played around with three design ideas and color combos. At first, I thought green, purple, and black/white would fit well because they matched the “Ghost” vibe. But later, we went for a more welcoming feel and swapped the purple for a light blue. The final design came from the second version.

In the end, both me and the client were happy with how it turned out. By now, the brochure should be out there already. This project taught me a lot, expounded on fields of graphic design lost to me due to circumstance, and opened my eyes to the fact that I still have much to learn. At the very least, I am now much more confident in this area of graphic design.

Black history Month- Benztown

My second project was created for my client, Benztown Radio. This project was requested for the later half of February, and was part of a promotional campaign for their Radio Specials revolving around Black History Month. For the first half of the month they had hired a separate graphic designer to create an advertisement, and then I was brought in for the second half of the month. What they requested was a 700x250, 3 panel gif advertisement banner that would be included email releases and promotional trades. The main focus of this advertisement was to draw viewers attention to “Top 10 Now & Then” and the “Black History Month Special” which gives the viewers the initial impression of who is hosting this and what they are hosting. Following that, their attention would then concentrate on the smaller details such as the artists who have helped shape African American History in the art of music, further completing the image of what is being celebrated and why. Finally, the viewer can focus on the fine details like “Inventory Free Weekends…” and how to contact Benztown to learn more about the special. After completion, the ad started running in promotional trades from the 16th until the end of the month

Jane Educational Consultant Website (Elementor)

For my first project through Fast Flow Designs, I was hired to create a website for Jane, owner and operator of her own business, Jane Educational Consultant. As someone who had only operated her business through introductions and connections, and only advertised minimally through social networks like Facebook; She wanted a central hub where she could people to that could help potential clients understand the services she provides, as well as pricing for said services. With this aid, people reaching out to her for assistance will already be aware of the pricing and what exactly they need from her, so that their communication and transactions can operate more smoothly. On top of that, since her business deals with all sorts of minorities and children with disabilities, she also requested the site possess an air of inclusiveness and welcoming for all who need her help. While creating the website using the Elementor Plugin through Wordpress, I made sure to include images that portrayed such actions of inclusion and cooperation between students, teachers and their families. Further along, I also found a nice gradient balance between a light blue and pink, the two stereotypical colors of gender, which gives a feeling of belonging to all. Since it has been launched only recently, there hasn’t been much traffic to determine any results through numbers, but my client has given me feedback that she is very pleased with the final version and she has also received positive feedback from those she has shown it to.
